What Is Potato Starch?
A fine, neat white powder with neutral flavour, extracted from potatoes. Potato starch is very suitable for use in both sweet and savoury dishes. Known as an excellent binder and best for you if you are looking for a gluten-free option.
Why Should I Get Potato Starch ?
As an additive for food processing, potato starch is typically used as thickener & stabilizer in foods such as puddings, custards, soups, sauces, gravies, pie fillings, & salad dressings. It is best to mix potato starch with fluid before it is added to recipes.
Add it to baked goods, mainly for gluten-free purpose and for better texture and binding. To use it as a thickener, you first have to dissolve starch in a small amount of water to create a slurry, and then add to sauce and stir until thickened.
